Do you understand the concept of KEYWORD LINKING?
I wrote a good
article about backlinking on my blog
www.agooglepro.com
May I suggest that in places like this where you are posting in forums / on squidoo / craigslist / basically anywhere you can post a link for free...
That you use the words
Campground Directory to make your link. (see, I'm doing
SEO work for you already)
Find out what other keywords people will be using to find campgrounds (like find campgrounds, campgrounds in (insert city / contry / state name here), camping facility...
(a good tool is
wordtracker and they now have a free toolbar for FF that's really great)
I searched "campgrounds" for you and here are some of the results:
323,411,443 searches ( last 90 days )
Searches Keyword
7,053 total searches
437 koa campgrounds
432 campgrounds
282 florida campgrounds
231 campgrounds for sale
206 campground
195 rv campgrounds
186 campgrounds ontario
181 campground for sale
153 california state campgrounds
119 ohio campgrounds
118 new york state park campgrounds
114 koa campground
114 michigan campgrounds
111 myrtle beach campgrounds
105 maine campgrounds
98 koa campground directory
97 texas campgrounds
95 campground reviews
So basically, use those terms as your KEYWORD LINKS everywhere you can
Before you know it, you'll be placing on the top few pages. (give it a couple of months, it's not an overnight thing)
Of course it depends on your competition and how active they are in
SEO work.
A really good tool I use for figuring out how many links the competition has and what I have to do to "OUT
SEO" them is
SEO Elite another one that has a good free trial and gives you "plain english" results that you can read well is
IBP.
You should also give some thought to creating an article section to your site about Camping. Find articles on free article sites (helpfull, but not as good as writing your own) to populate it with. Better yet, write some articles about camping and put them on those free article sites for others to use. You include a "resource box" at the end of the article with your name and a link back to your site... this is the fastest way to propagate your links in a viral fashion.
Try to write 2 versions of your article, one that will go out to the Free Articles sites, and a different spin on it for your site (you won't get punished for duplicate content that way)
I'd be happy to do some of this for you, or give you more pointers on a 1to1 call: My company specializes in
web strategy and marketing (see how I did that?
