ERROR: all nameservers are in the same subnet 64.235.246.0

    Hi,

When I checked up the configuration of nameservers with proredirect.com I got that error. Can someone explain me the reason of the error? The name resolves by the way. Here is the log:

Well, maybe they are amateur redirect then ! In any case, with DNS you are supposed to have two or more name servers, and these servers are supposed to be on different networks. This is so an outage on a common route to both does not take them both out at the same time. For example, when I am using my nameservers for a domain, I use three, one on the east coast of the USA, one on the west, and one in France. In this case the use .10 and .11 of the same class C, so they are sitting next to each other, if they are not even really the same box using two IPs, so a routing glitch, power failure or other single point of failure will take out both boxes, hence the warning.
