Example of amazinly non-relevant Google Adsense targeting

Simply because stats refers to website 'cookies' in a site meaning internet cookies, the adsense is all about baking and chocolate cookies! I assume google got this word as the stats tracker program uses so called 'cookies'.

Re: Example of amazinly non-relevant Google Adsense targeting

Well, first off, I get login failed as the title of the page. Secondly, its telling me that either I'm not logged in, or I'm (my browser) isnt accepting cookies properly, and holding a login.

Just counted 37 instances of the word 'cookie'.

So, maybe you are logged in.
But surely, google's mediabot isn't logged. And thats why the ads are (were) about cookies.
And, as a side note, looks like they dropped google and are using ads by tribalfusion.com instead (upper right corner - the only adverts I see)

Hope this sheds some light for you.
I beg the differ - I think their programming is top notch in my experience, and even has definately gotten better.

Re: Example of amazinly non-relevant Google Adsense targeting

You will see the page is NOT about cookies and are not mentioned on the page but about baking cookies is the adsense ads?

For some odd reason if you click on the visitor.php link above more than once it sometimes vanishes (but not all the time) and instead brings up that cookies page you refer to with 37 instances of cookies. Very strange.

Yes, because cookies were set on your box. But when google visits visitor.php, they dont see the page you do.

Yes, because the cookies may be short lived.
(Save me the time to see) - Sounds like your ready for an advanced course on the wonders of cookies!
Google has made 0 mistakes.
That site could let googlebot (mediabot) in to see the content, just cloak it to them, but thats their problem and lost revenue, not mine.
