A good way to generate Traffic

Hey I started a new site but have not had much luck developing traffic to it, and i am looking for good ways to do it. What has worked and what hasnt work. My site is

Get textlink deals on high PR sites which will increase your PR and get more pages indexed in search engines, submit into directories , advertise on forums.

The best way to build up traffic is to establish quality links from other sites. Search Engines like when a website has many many links coming to it from other locations, but not a ton of links out from that site (they seem to frown a little on the reciprical link factor). The quality of the links is very very important. This not only bring in quality traffic to your site (if your site has a link on a site that has nothing in common with your website, that link probably will not produce much for you), but this also is benefitial in your Search Engine rankings. Search Engines like to see that other sites that are in your website genre or industry, use you as a resource from their site.

Keeping the existing traffic is key, which can be done by constantly updating your website with new information. Search Engines also like that your website is updates regularly and not just sitting there.

Getting a large amount of traffic fast is not really realisitic. You can get some traffic flowing, but is going to take time and probably some financial investing in order to get good quality links, which will produce more and more traffic to your site.

A good place to start with links is to look in the advertising section here on DNForum.com - You can find people that will put links to your site on their website for 10 bucks a month ect.. Ask to see stats of their web traffic and try and keep the sites your link shows up limited to the same industry. If you can get your site listed on 10 or so websites that get a decent amount of traffic per day for $10 - then you are spending $100 bucks a month for some decent advertising taht should produce some traffic to you. If these sites already ahve PR rankings (which I just looked and most do for 10 - 25 a month) then you should see a change in your PR ranking on google at next update. Keeping that kind of advertising going is only going to help things...and if you can increase that number to say 20 or 30 PR ranked links that all have some decent traffic - you are going to see great results. Try buying links from these sellers in bulk at a discount - ask them if they will discount the cost if you buy a 3 month block of advertising or a 6 month block of advertising. Even if they only take off a couple of dollars, that will add up over those months and allow you 1 extra month of advetising or allow you to link on another site since you saved money in the long run.
