    I think you're just a little bit paranoid...

    I don't know where you've heard that, but I'm pretty sure that vBulletin isn't written that way (grant access to spiders/worms/ants etc.)

    The application is what matters the most.

    Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if there's an actual CMS that allows certain "user agents" to view the usually restricted areas without any problems, so in theory you could cloak your headers and grant yourself access without any actual CMS/server hacks.

    But I don't think that's the case with systems like WP, Joomla or vBulletin, I'm sure all of them thought about this and didn't overlooked the issue...

    I think you're perfectly safe. Especially with vBulletin. Chill out...

    Yeah, it all depends on how strong the bot itself is, if it's a "super bot", you're screwed, they knock down everything...

    Now seriously, if the CMS you use allows them to, they can. If it doesn't, they can't.

    Simple as that. As for vBulletin, the only way to be sure is to contact the support and see what they say...

    My guess is that it all depends on what guests are allowed. If they can see, bots can too...
