I have a .edu website - build link directory?

I have personal webspace on my university's .edu domain. As backlinks from .edu are valuable, would starting a link directory (and charging a small fee to list) be a good idea?

I actually own my own .edu domain name..I'm one of the very few that still have a personal .edu, but I think it's really just for show rather than anything else. Unless I wanted to start a university..it is probably not worth much..

As for the backlinks..and doing SEO related stuff..I would stay away from that...might get in over your head with school administration...I did something silly back in university and got my account banned for year..( I crashed part of the school network...lol)..yeah, I can laugh about it now..10 years ago..

I also have my own edu domain which is not related to any university! my own edu domain it cant get any better folks planning to start a good ol blog on it and maybe monetising by getting paid links
