If google has already picked up the backlinks you should be able to see them in your Google webmaster Tools account.
You can use http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com to check the backlinks to your site.

I hired someone a month a go to do some seo work on my website.
He sent me the url's today but I can't see the links in some bookmarks and directories.
Is there a reliable tool to see if he did is work properly?
