1) How many monthly 'exact searches' in Google would you consider to be in the "long tail category" ? 1000-9000 (rather than 27000-100,000)? or is it more like 50-480?
2) If an exact keyword gets 50 searches a month but the Google Keyword Tool says the Advertiser Competition is high, is it still worth targeting the keyword? Is there less of a chance I would rank well in SERP than if the Advertiser Competition was less competitive?
3) Can a 1-2 word keyword phrase be considered long tail if it doesn't get a lot of searches per month (eg 450 exact searches)?
