Congrats raju but not that hard to do for searches in "". Searching google with key phrases in "" asks google to only return sites for that exact phrase.

The only people that are going to find you @ #5 where you sit today are those searching google using "website directory" (in quotes) which returns 1,390,000 results and is still not a common way for the mainstream to search. The real prize would be ranking for website directory (w/o quotes) which returns 453,000,000 results and for which your site cant' be found in the top 500 (where i stopped looking).

Even getting it there is just the beginning. My site was also on the first page (without quotes) for a few months. On a daily basis the position changed from 3 to 5 to 7 back to 5, etc. The past week or so it's no longer in the top ten pages. Buying links etc., hasn't done squat...

I am still researching a website that can give me an
idea on how many people are actually using a certain
keyword in searching.

For example, when I use google and search for the phrase
custom illustration, our website is most likely to appear
in the first page. But, the main question is: Does people actually
search using that key phrase? I might be optimizing a website
for a particular keyword or phrase, but people are not actually
typing them in via the search engines. Do you see what I mean?

So, it is not just being on the first page of a search engine.
It is more on the "usefulness" of being there on the first page
knowing that people are actually searching the key phrase or
typing them in.

If anyone knows a website that can tell me about this, that will
be appreciated. I have an idea of software that can tell me about
this. But, budget is still spent for some other priorities, so a free
website tool will be nice.

I have two sites on the first page of Google, and they have been there consistenly for years: UsedComputer.com and UsedPhone.com

When users Google the phrases 'used computer' or 'used phone', or their plurals, without quotes, my sites get returned on the first page.

From my experience, I think it shows you need at least two things to get a high Google ranking:

1. Appropriate key words in the domain
2. Dynamic content the directly related to the key words.

And that's why domain names with good key words are so expensive.
