Hello,

Does someone know what the best way to get a high ranking on Google is? I just launched my site at www.essentialweb.biz and I'm wondering what's the best way to increase my PR and get links on Google when someone types in "web development", "web design", "Orange County", "Newport Beach" or whatever. Are meta tags the best way? What about other methods? Should I somehow let Google know that I want them to list my site? How long will it be before they recognize my site?

Links, links and more links. Trade, beg, buy or steal - however you do it just get more incoming links. Take is at a steady pace and change up your link text.

A good relevant choice of keywords, Title tags, H tags, content, number of pages, architecture of the site, lots of relevant incoming links and other factors

g ...unfortunatly the age of the site is also probably a factor for GG. I'd suggest for rapid result to bid on the new MSN engine.

Be advised Peter, the real SEO pros do it for themselves. Why, because they make much more creating and placing thier own sites than most clients are ever willing to pay

It seems like you are just getting your feet wet. The bits and pieces of advice that you got might have already given you a clue that it's not a slam dunk.

It will take hard work, lots and lots of reading, experimentation, etc...

Also, be cautious when getting those backlinks. Too many from one site using the same link text may get you smacked around by the SE's. The word on the street is - googlebowling
