An update is very much due... But the truth is that we can only speculate. Very few people know exactly when it will happen.
I just got a PR6 link for each of my 2 sites...

this is driving me crazy, I finally have at least one site that will become PR5....
No point waiting. The next update might be in 2005. No one knows for sure when PR will update next.
it was almost exactly once per month up until the last one, but obviously, you are right, know one really knows when PR will update

But I want google to recognise the links I've been building and gimmie higher SERPs

And you can predict it, but not as easily as suggested.
