run it from a stable/fast server, block bad ips. Keep an eye on abusers and block them too. With proxies there is alot of traffic, be picky and the good ones keep coming and bring more with them. Dont try and get 1 million hits a month of whatever you can get, having ten percent of that but only the good traffic will return revenue ten fold. Also block hyperlinking url use.

As for getting initial traffic, get listed on some topsites, its free and only requires a button to be on your site. I suggest only listing off one good topsite and at the most 4. And my best advice is to pick up a premium proxy name.

p.s. ypn doesnt allow proxies, adsense doesnt state it but they frown on it and will not like you in the event something needs dealing with. Competition with proxies is fierce too. expect a little fight from some proxy owners.

    Re: Proxy traffic

    IMO they won't do anything.

I did run a medium size proxy network (over 10,000 uniques daily) and found in the end it doesn't pay much.

Get your sites (network) as big as you can and sell it

I manage to get those 10,000 uniques daily in ~ 4months. made over 4,000$ selling my network.

Get listed in MANY toplists, not only 4-5 (sorry Jacksplat). My sites were all listed in over 50 toplists. After the first PR update, they all got PR4-5. Best of luck.

You dont need to be listed on so many to gain decent pr. I've never once had more than 4 or 5 on any one site. And have pr4 and 5 without problem.
Speaking of pr, people dont really care when using the proxy, they care about speed and uptime, ease of use and no fuss. But thats just my experience. I even opened a private proxy w/cgi that requires sign up and login. i added only one button to it and it grew quite fast.

I see many with tons of buttons and they're busy as well, so theres more than one method to success.

    Good luck all.

    Jack
