Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!I got listed on a big search engine in 2nd spot. Now thats the good news. The bad news is that I didnt separate the two words in the title of the home page. For example if my domian were to be Red Crayons (which its not) I am listed under RedCrayons. I dont know where I am when Red Crayons (two words) is typed in. So my question is should I change the title to two words and hope I get listed somewhere decent eventually? Or should I leave if alone and stay in pos. 2 without separating the words. Your expert advice is greatly appreciated.
why not put both in the title?

So somehow title the main page "Redcrayons. Red Crayons"? Hmmm, I guess thats a thought.
If most people search for your keyword without using a space then you're in a good situation. On the other hand if they usually enter in the words with a space then you're obviously not going to get much traffic and you should postpone the celebration.
I just don't want to mess with it because if I do it may drop out of sight completely. It's a brand new site and the domain name, page title and keywords are all the same. I would like to be able to keep my 2nd place spot without the space and also get a good spot with the space too all at the same time.
Go for a title that includes both. We had a similar situation to yourself where we were lurking around 7 or 8 on google and shortly after we made the change we hit #1!!!
Since then another site has come into the battle for top slot because we dropped our guard, but we've just done some work and we're hoping that in the not too distant future we will once again reclaim our crown....lol.
Red Crayons, RedCrayons would be my recommendation. If the separated phrase gets more searches you want it up front so it is weighted more.
Also make sure you get inbound links with the anchor text both ways.
Change it, and wait.
I'd try the "Red Crayons, RedCrayons" suggestion. My question would be; does RedCrayons get you much traffic anyways?
With the words together, is the traffic generated significant for that searched term? What are the stats telling you?
