Okay, obviously to do it properly takes time and money, but I am interested in hearing what you all think is the one "Quick and Easy"-est way to get hits to your site?

Self-promotion through sig files, forums etc?
SEO and search engine promotion?
Reciprocal linking and PPC promotion?

What do you think is the the most effective without spending big buck or hours?

search engine promotion; links are better but take a lot of time to establish

some topsites will put your site in a "newly listed" section, which sometimes can be seen by thousands...
or sites like coolhomepages.com (there are thousands of these), which cost anywhere between $20 and $50 to fast listing can bring in high quality traffic as well.

Hunt down services that offer link packages from sites that don't have too many other links on the page ( 10 or less).

Also, don't flood the site too fast with links, add them slowly or you might get caught in the "Google Sandbox" which is theorized by many as a holding cell which will slow down the indexing of your site.

Text link ads are by far the best bang for your buck if coming from good sites..
