Re: sub domains or long urls

    Thanks acroplex
I thought so which is why I am really having a hard time time getting my head around the "generic 1 word dictionary" domain sales and those on offer.

Apart from the abvious high value names like sex.com, why pay huge amounts for these names when you could "probably" buy a large number of the longer niche domains for less?

I am still new to domaining and find myself depserately looking for 1 word domains.

Am I doing the right thing?

Re: sub domains or long urls

It's a conjuction pair that works as such. And it was used as an example, not as availability. The point is, even with 2 worders the available domains are limited unless you move to exotic TLD's

Re: sub domains or long urls

Blood-Donor.org would work just as well in SERPs and easy for a user to read + you would benefit from incoming links having 2 keywords in them if somebody links to you with the domain name Key1-Key2.org when as without the separator it could be unclear (for a search engine) how to split the letters in words...
