Your ad or your search result? Anyone can place an ad on a top 10 ranking site, just click the "advertise on this site" link in the Google ads. If you are talking about a top 10 placement for your site, that's different...

I had a client that was using them and he gave them a list of keywords to target and they were not able to rank any of them, when he contacted them about the failure they offered to upgrade him for free to their most expesnse service program (forget the name of it) or refund his money and he went with the free upgrade and his traffic jumped up but no improvement in rankings and the traffic increase did not convert very well. So overall it was a waste of money for him.

Probably using a something like TrafficSwarm.com to increase traffic. You cannot give someone a bunch of keywords and expect to rank. Unfortunatly there are to many "newbies" in the SEO field that stick in a couple of keywords and think there going to rank in the top 10 of Google, the most common crap i see is where someone ranks number one for some obscure keyword that NO ONE searches on and they call them self an "seo expert" get real people.

I have had clients come to me because they have been screwed by some "newbie" saying they will get them ranked in the top 10 in two months so when i do my consultation i usualy find that the person or firm have completly screwed up the website or all they have done is put in a few extra keywords and i end up putting it right and them people who i did the re-work on ARE now in the top 10 of Google and have been the past 2 years.

If you want to rank well and do things right - it takes alot longer than two months and there is more to it than just sticking keywords in.
