Real estate has some tough competition, but if you play it smart on Adwords you can still find some niche areas.

I had 2 websites (rentals and sales - Real Estate) and we decided to merge them and create a new one in February 05.
Now...
1+1 is not always equal to 2, actually in our case was equal to 0.5...
I would like to increase the number of visitors as our revenues from advertising have gone down terribly...
Currently we grab some money, peanuts, from Adsense and to make more money I parked the other two sites on sedo... However I am quite disappointed and i redirected them again on the new site to increase visitors...
Question... Does Adwords advertising pays back on the long run? We have a Real Estate (Free) Advertising company and we count on advertisers donations...
Thanks for any suggestion to make this Free Ads site take off. We put so much effort into it for the last two years and we are determined to sell it if revenues do not start covering the costs.
Tx!

It is very low, actually the only time it has produced decent amount of money has been when the site was down fdor maintenanceOriginally Posted by Blarian
I was tempted to fix it.... not!
The main issue is that before we use to get paid for advertising (or we used to manage some properties ourselves) and we had a very good return on investment but recently the partnership broke and I decided to transform the site in a free advertising having not too much time to follow everything and having to move this part of the world from Europe...
I will look more into it...
Tks!
google drives targetted traffic. Just that you need to optimise your campaign. The correct add on google adwords would drive targetted traffic. There's no need to be in 1st position. You will end up loosing money. Make list of the keywords as much as possible. Categorise the keywords. Create seperate campaigns for each. Direct the visitors to the page they need .. its not necessary that it needs to be the homepage. Give them what they want. Use of negetive keywords also helps in saving cost of the campaign.
