It could be some people are confusing 'hits' and 'visitors'. One visitor can leave behind many 'hits'. Depending on the collection method, some people will quote perceived hits as actual traffic totals. Unique visitors and page views are more reflective of actual traffic.
As well are people including visits by search engines etc?

Zombie Movie Bong of the Dead - Get it on DVD or via Digital Download Today! ~ "This is a sure winner." - Tommy Chong
So what keywords did they target?2 weeks and already have thousands of hits
Keyword in the name?
Is it popular Market?
Is it a typo name of the "next HOT thing"
Did they set up a network of sites to build PR and traffic and plug the name into the flow of traffic.
Would be nice to find those volume names everyday.....
adiboy, 60 uniques per day isn't so bad for your blog I don't think. Those who are posting 1,000's must either be looking at hits, or like what cursal said. Most of my traffic comes from viral (word of mouth) and little by way of search engines. Not in the 1,000's per day, however... yet.![]()
the targetted keywords rank on search engines, your backlinks counts and many more vector influence your hits. If the project is not copied or stolent content. It'll now and future get it's desired visits. You try to be unique or the best on whatever you promote for people.
and I just wonder why nobody here explains the difference between a V I S I T and a V I S I T O R and a
P A G E V I E W and a H I T .
I am pretty new in this forum (welcome everyone) but how come people here seems not to know the difference..... hmmmmm
1 Visit = counts everytime anyone visits your URL in a given time frame (does not matter what file and can be from just one single visitor doing XXX amounts of visits)
1 Visitor = counts the amount of different visitor IPs that visits your URL in a given time frame.
1 Pageview = counts the amount a single page has been viewed from anyone, counts usually in a 24 hour period
1 Hit = counts each single file that has been requested from a visitor browser
(means 1 page has 10 photos = minimum 10 hits from 1 visits and from one visitor)
do your numbers.....or am I wrong >?

DOMAIN-BUSINESS.COM taking offers.
I don't think you're doing anything wrong, necessarily, it just takes a lot of hard work, or deep pockets, or an extreamly lucky catch, to find a domain the gets that sort of traffic. Most domains don't, without lot's of paid links and advertising, (unless they are good typos or generics).Originally Posted by NightLinks
