Why 30 of 13,000 ?

Hello,
I have a little question, for example when i search this term:
http://www.google.com/search?q=%22iran-ecards.com%22

Why google says there are about 13,000 links but we can only see 30 ? :huh:
It happens very often while searching for domains' popularity !

Note: The domain is just an example, i don't want to buy it

Hi Romain,

This is something I have also experienced with Google. From what I know, the 30 results shown are the main ones for the search you have done. If you go to the third and final page, you will see an option saying that it can show you omitted results. These are the remaining results for your search which are usually very similar to the 30 results you were shown originally.

What I usually do when I want to see results specific to a site is to do a search for one of the following ...

allinsite:www.iran-ecards.com ---> This shows all the pages that are in google for this site

url:www.iran-ecards.com --> same as above

link:www.iran-ecards.com --> this will show results of sites that link to iran-ecards.com

Yes,
But you see, for my example (iran-ecards.com)
even if we click on "show omitted results", it doesn't show no more than 30 results !
But it says there are 12,900 results !
Any idea ?

Have alsmost the same quection for weeks now.
Thought that Google was doing this to country code domains...now i see that actually the dn extesnion has nothing to do with this.

Your case maybe the reasult of domain expiration. In this case a possible reason would be that google removed all the info about this dn when expired, so now shows the previous number of results but not the actual results. Maybe an explanation like this would be the reason. If this dn wasn't expired I have no clue what the reason could be.

My case is even worst
Look at this : http://www.google.com/search?q=cheats.nu shows 5k results....I have gone almost thru all pages and most of the times the phrase to this dn is a link back to it


now if you tell google to show links with
link:cheats.nu
or
link:www.cheats.nu

shows 3 links and 18 on the second case, lthough this dn has way more links ! I have many country code domains that have this problem and still never figure out why

When a .com dn expires google removes info about its linking..when a country code expires Google does not..must be unregistered to remove it..still can't figure out what's Google's secret is at such cases...
