Yahoo/Overture Bid Tool Is Gone

For those of you that used the Bid Tool at Yahoo/Overture -- the one that lets you see what advertisers are bidding on keywords -- well, it's gone! Yep, Yahoo did away with it. Here's the text from an inquiry I sent to Yahoo about this issue:

I tried to access the bid tool, but this text appeared in my browser:

is no longer available on this server and there is no forwarding address. Please remove all references to this resource.

Here's the reply I got from Yahoo:

The Bid Tool will not be available anymore. We will not be showing your competitors? bids to you now. Though, we will be providing a bid range for the top position to you to have an idea on what to bid to be in the top position.

The bid tool was a great way to find high-revenue keywords to target for SEO of web pages. The bid tool was also handy for domainers that like to dream up revenue-generating keyword combinations that can drive traffic to their parked pages. Alas, the bid tool is gone...
