    small simple job

    G'day
Saw a post by Fabulous the other day with words to the effect that they were having technical difficulties that particular day.
Well I am here to tell you that I have been having technical difficulties for the last 10 years
It is just so time consuming for me to do a bit of html or instal a php script or set up a new web site using a template or whatever
So when i read this thread about CMS http://www.dnforum.com/thread101079-.html
I had a look a phpnuke.org, mambo, xoops etc and thought I would really like to try this stuff, however there is no way I am going to spend hours trying to understand the very brief written instructions.
It is like I tune out as soon as I read put " put this in your root directory"
Maybe it is a Australian language thing that confuses me

I already pay monthly for an unlimited domains host that has all the stuff needed for php scripts
I already have a heap of content
I already have plenty of domains
What I need is someone to instal, say, xoops, for me in my host
If all goes well there should be plenty more work
What would be a fair price to pay someone to instal a CMS like xoops to the stage that I can take it over and put my 1000 pages of content on there?
Your bid please, in paypal cash or DNF$ if you want this job?

I work extensively with Mambo (the best CMS IMHO of the lot). Will install, customize and configure it, and get you up and running fast with your first website (detailed instructions, etc.) for $300. You tend to get what you pay for ...

Yes this is true, and thank you for complimenting my thread. The problem is the installation isn't necessarily the hardest part. The hard part is Designing & modifiying them, and adding your content. Sometimes you have to do additional work after Fantastico as well, like chmod, etc. This is the reason I had originally posted the thread.

Even without Fantastico some are quite simple, and you have to know how to add on templates, add-ons, and mods, etc., as well.

Maybe you can post your site, so we can see how it turned out.

Discovering Fanatastico diverted my attention from the xoops, that I had installed. Had a quick look and really I don't underrstand how that is going to help me manage 1000 web pages of content
Decided instead to install cubecart through cpanel/fantastico and try out some ecommerce. My first attempt is www.bettymart.com Only have 2 items uploaded. Footy dog collars.
My intention is to populate with the complete set of Footy dog collars, pay for the cubecart licence and then see if the dn/Hosting/cubecart can be sold

    Re: small simple job

Remember, Fantastico doesnt always have the latest version, A lot of fantastico installs still have for example phpBB 2.0.11 With Huge well known security exploits, i reccomend taking 30-60 minutes learning how to install manually, it works out for you better in the long run, What happens when you need to apply upgrades?
