Use ZFBot? Want to return the favor? Need help!

For anyone who uses my web app ZFBot, has this expertise and would like to return the favor:

I've got a 320gig Western Digital external USB drive that just failed on me -
yeah... happy birthday to me. The light still comes on and I can hear
the drive attempting to spin but after 4 or 5 attempts, it just stops.
Windows Device Manager recognizes the drive but cannot see any of the data
on it and Windows Explorer doesn't see it at all.

I've got nearly all of my website/web application source code on it,
7,000 pictures of my kids, over 60 gig of music and assorted other data...

I'm trying to avoid paying a data recovery company $500 bucks to recover it
(I received quotes from several and they are all coming in around that
    range).

Anyway - I was hoping to find someone who uses ZFbot that has the expertise
to do it and was looking to do me a favor or barter...

If it's mechanical damage, you'll want to send it to someone with a cleanroom, preferably ontrack. I have tried others, several of which made it even worse. Be cautious of cheap recovery services. If it will keep spinning, the best program to use would be runtime.org's getdataback. Been doing this stuff for 15 years for a living, speaking from experience.

    Oh, and Happy Birthday!

I see that you have this issue in the zfbot footer, so I am assuming it hasn't been solved yet.

You might do better having a little donation link towards professional fixing of the drive. Some of us would gratefully contribute towards that.

Sorry - I forgot to remove that note from zfbot.com - I did in fact get the data off of the drive... smashed the drive into a desk and it started working again. For how long - don't know... don't care either. I was fortunate enough to get what I needed off of it....
