the statues is on his knees now..
As posted before, it made me sick every time I saw a statue or portrait of Saddam Hussein. They WERE everywhere in Baghdad.
Profoundly influenced by #Bauhaus, @Nameslave unrepentantly embraces #Minimalism in his #multimedia portfolio. His early works include an experimental adaptation of Chekhov’s Cherry Orchard inspired at least partly by Robert Fripp. His totally irrelevant M.Ed. dissertation examines Organizational Culture and Change Management.
The soldier was covering up Sadam's face so he didn't have to look at it while he was up there.![]()
but what the world wants to now.
when is the statue going on ebay...

That's what I was thinking..
My feeling is the Pentagon was behind this more than you think. US flags have been used many times in our history by the military for many reasons: Iwa Jima- To get american's behind the WWII. 9-11, NYC - The fire fighters wanted to show that America was still functioning and strong.... Now we have the courtyard in Iraq. Clearly the military wanted to show that we have taken down Saddam Hussein, and their liberation has officially begun. I realize in recent days the military has avoided putting US flags up on presidential palaces, but this was too good of an opportunity to pass up. This was so huge, all TV networks pre-empted their regular programming to bring it live.Originally posted by Whois-Search

This event reminded me of when the "Wall" came down.
This was a good thing. It shows that all the bad press from Al jizzera is not all true. That at the very least some of the Iraqis are happy about be out from under Sodumbs grip and it can't be hidden by the foriegn press. Hopefully this is the begining of a new era for Iraq and peace.
I can't wait to see/hear the spin put on this by the Islamc/Arab press.
Should be interesting.
