Yeah, I watched from the start last night when the first 4 were brought up.
Such a surreal thing to watch the feeds from the bottom of the shaft and then to see that first capsule's occupant arrive to the surface.
Went to bed, but since I have been up I have kept it on CNN (like I usually do) watching it live.
watching this too...can't even imagine what they went through.

Try to imagine what it feels like when you're in the capsule, going up..!I'd freak out in there!
After 69 days underground, I would just sit there quietl;y and pray for the 20 minute ride to end, at least at the end of this ride there is freedom.
Here is an interesting twist for one miner:
http://www.politicsdaily.com/2010/10...comes-to-pass/
"The stories of the trapped have been of love and anticipation, of joy and heartbreak, a telenovela playing out on a global stage. There is even a love triangle: Miner No. 20, Yoni Barros, is rumored to fear ascending to the top where his wife, Marta Salinas, had discovered Barros' lover, Susana Valenzuela, while waiting for him at Camp Hope. The two women -- dios mio! -- learned of each other in the crowd as each called his name. (Salinas declined to be a part of the celebration.)"
The wife declined to show up when he was pulled up as miner 21, the mistress was there instead. Both are ugly in my opinion.

I heard about the mistress, sad to hear she is ugly. I'm not interested anymore.
I've been following this via nytimes.com daily articles. Glad to hear they made it out. I probably would have killed myself down there.

Too Funny
I have not heard of that.
Yeah, they might come out of the woodwork once the book, movie, and interview dinero starts pouring in.
On a side note, I was unaware of the deep-rooted hatred Bolivia has towards Chile.
I was not too familiar with the Chile/Bolivia history. I was watching something about both of those countries being big South American Naval powers in the 19th century. They had a war and Chile kicked Bolivia's ass. Bolivia surrendered. The root of the hated comes from the treaty which took away Bolivia's entire coastal border. If you look at a Map of Bolivia now, you will see that Bolivia is landlocked, which was not the case a century or so ago. All that land on Chile's north that borders Bolivia used to belong to Bolivia but all of that was given to Chile in the treaty.
That is why many (primarily South American media) are exclaiming surprise as the Bolivian president and Chile president being seen so much together lately.
Amazing what we can learn from paying attention to the stories behind the stories.
