So I can check my E-mail, domain auctions (very important) while on the move.
Sure it has a number of shortcomings the tiny screen not being the least but once again the Opera browser comes to the rescue with its built-in fit to width feature
Anyway it sure is better than fumbling with a mobile phone
Actually the primary reason for the purchase is that the unit is shipped with a Linux distribution instead of micro$oft windows (yuk !) and I have even tweaked it already so I have a fully-fledged portable *nix platform with full KDE menu.
IMO it's still good value for money and I'm loving it. Any other eeepc owners around here ?![]()

Yeah, I love my EEE.
Also an Aussie. Got the 701 model back in Feb and feeling kinda ripped off, but hey, laptops always drop in price 6 months after you get them because the newer shiner versions are out.
I got the linux version because I can install Windows myself, so it's a $100 saving right there. The HDD capacity was frustrating, but hey, I've got a 120gb outboard that fits in a pocket that I wasn't exactly using. So that's become my Windows drive (because you kinda of need 120gb for Windows + programs for some reason, whereas 8gb is ample for Linux and its software suite)
I occasionally do a bit of WARDriving with it.
My favourite thing about it is how if I plug my TyTn2 into it by USB, it recognises it as a modem, for times I can't piggyback onto a wireless network (there aren't many free ones in Australia, other than people that don't secure their own)
