Good thread! Good nostalgia hit! I got online early 98. Was just before Google started to emerge. I think infoseek was the first search engine I used. Also liked AltaVista. I didn't like it when they all became portals. Google of course took all their business thanks to their simplicity and concentrating on search.
Yahoo was the web king back then. Almost everyone spent at least 30% of their web surfing/email checking time on Yahoo. How time flies.
What is a "google"? I mean really. it is some info-tech company or something?
