There is a domain name that I want and it's exipring in a few months. What is the best place to try to get it when it expires? I thought about using GoDaddy's backorder service, but after reading some posts, I see that might not be the best option.
Thanks
depends somewhat on where the domain is regged.
this one is actually registered thru GoDaddy
then use GoDaddy, pool, snap and enom
If it's a few months away you may want to contact owner directly assuming the whois data is available. If it's a top name it will get bid up pretty high. If you decide you don't want it feel free to let us know ;-)

It expires at the beginning of december and its not a premium domain. It is a generic name, though. I just want to get it for development purposes.
E-Promote, are you saying that I should use all four services, or that those are the best ones?
Thanks again guys..
If it's a GoDaddy name, then a godaddy order has a chance and is very cheap if you go thru a wildwest reseller. If you want to cover all your bases and are willing to spend $60 or more then you should use pool, snap and enom (won't be charged unless they get the name).
