China - Where billionaires flourish - Behind only U.S. in superrich

Now you know where to sell your domains.

http://www.yahoo.com/s/1145654:

The annual Hurun Report said China has 130 known dollar billionaires, up from 101 last year. The number in the United States is 359 while Russia has 32 and India 24, according to Forbes magazine.
...
Hoogewerf said the actual number of dollar billionaires could be higher than estimated.

Hoogewerf said people who probably should have been listed, but about whose wealth not enough in known, included Liu Chuanzhi, chairman of the world's No. 4 PC maker Lenovo ...

Yes, China is the most populous country on earth with 1.3 billion, or one-fifth of the world total. But I guess the size of population is a double edged sword, because it has clearly been one of the reasons why China was so poor in the past. That China becomes relatively much richer over the last 2 - 3 decades is probably because of the accrued or cumulative demand and productivity that had long been suppressed.

Yes, the disparity is definitely there, but there are enough middle class or well off people to substantiate a market or aftermarket, for e.g. domain names.

By the way, the population of India (now standing at almost 1.2 billion) will probably surpass that of China in a decade or less, but that's a champion that few Chinese are looking to keep.
