Angry Dish Network Dumping Networks Like FOX and Nat Geo!

Have you heard what DishNetwork is doing?

Essentially, Fox is wanting Dish to pay nearly double what they had been paying to carry News Corp programming, which includes Fox.

Already Dish has dumped all of the Fox Sports tier channels AND National Geographic.

As of Midnite last night, Dish stopped carry the Fox Sports programming.

After Dish TV, Cablevision is the latest pay-TV operator to possibly get cut off from News Corp.’s Fox programming over the same debate of alleged exorbitant hikes in broadcasting fees demanded by Fox.

The Dish Network lost its Fox channels early this month affecting many subscribers. The talks regarding an extension and return of Fox channels to Dish has not progressed after two weeks.

Cablevision’s contract with Fox expires Friday night and subscribers may miss watching shows such as “House”, “Glee”, and the anticipated baseball postseason unless an agreement is reached.

“Cablevision already pays News Corp. $70 million every year for its channels, and now News Corp. wants more than $150 million a year for the same exact programming,” said Cablevision Vice President Charles Schueler.

Fox released a statement saying that negotiations with Cablevision are ongoing and that their new proposal is “reasonable.”

Dish TV has also sharply criticized the proposal to them by Fox as being unreasonable given the economic downturn.

Now I have been informed that IF talks break down between Dish and Fox's parent company, News Corp, Dish network will STOP carrying FOX in total, to include local channels, as of November 1.

In my market, Fox carrys NASCAR racing and Panthers Football games as well as other NFC games.

Surprisingly, this debate is not affecting Time Warner or DirectTV.

I am going to go back to DirectTV and Direct TV will pay the early cancellation penalty.
