This morning I saw 20 updates from someone because they bought this in mob wars, bought that, did this, did that, bought this, bought that and so on.
Granted - I'll do this from time to time but when I go up in levels (sometimes) and maybe a high score.
"So-and-so just played (this game)!!"

I know on MySpace you can ignore application messages like that as well as turn them off from sending out to other people. Don't know about Facebook though, check around, it should have that option too.![]()
Each time a game is going to do that for me it asks me if I want to do it or not and most of the time I click ignore. I don't think my friends care if I just harvested some corn in Farmville.![]()

whats facebook?
You can "hide" a certain game in the newsfeed. Just hover on the certain feed that you don't like to appear and you will see a "Hide" button on the right, click on it.
Facebook is the site that surpassed Myspace's number of membership.

Yeah, I've been blocking the apps but it seems like someone does nothing but play apps all day (it must be nice).![]()

I totally agree with you, Ed.
I hate those game notifications as well.
I have been nominated as a beta tester for Facebook Lite. Th lite version has all the game/app notifications off by default, and the lite version is what I use now.
I've got over 4300 friends on FB due to playing Mafia Wars. I tweaked my settings so I am not posting the Mafia Wars spam but many still spam away unaware how annoying it can be.
You can choose to put them on ignore or set up separate news feeds so their activity shows only in that feed. In other words I set up one news feed as friends, one as family, and one just for Mafia Wars so I could separate all these things and quickly find the posts of friends and family.
