I've used all three and Escrow.com is by far the fastest, when both parties do their job it can take only one day. For the fee, it's unbeatable - unless you simply depend on wiring funds and a faxed contract (user to user agreement).

I can see where you are coming from, but sedo escrow is actually only 3% for its escrow service unless you used their market place to find the buyer. 3% is great imho. Moniker Escrow has very fair pricing as well, especially for larger purchases ($50k transaction, only $450, that is less than 1%).

Escrow.com charges just about the same as moniker escrow and not too much less than sedo.com to worry about other hassles. If time is your biggest factor, couldn't the delays happen as well or similar to the OP situation, further delaying the transaction or ruining it anyways?

I think I will continue to use Moniker Escrow and Sedo escrow when necessary.

This is good news, congratulations chillking.

If we can ponder for a moment on the full extent of the scam, i think we will see that the guy did everything he possibly could to get away with it, and still didn't.

I've used escrow.com a dozen times over the years and never once thought about the possibility of this kind of thing happening.

Good advice in the thread, re inspection time 1 day only too!

Think I will try sedo or moniker next time.

enom doesn't care, i've had numerous domains stolen from my enom account and they didn't do ANYTHING to help me retrieve my domains....i was forced to get icann involved and enom still dragged their feet for months before i got my domains back!!!

call enom and try to speak with Deborah Burditt - she's not as helpful as you might think, but at least you have someone to personally argue with!!!!! btw, you will need to threaten to bring icann into it and will push to discredit their accreditation!

I wonder if the domaintools (ex whois.sc) historical whois history would have managed to see the ownership changes or not, considering the record changes happened so fast...

Anyway this thread is a very good lesson to the wise when dealing with someone who has no reputation or a total unknown.

I had a guy steal one of my domains from a enom account, the seller and me the buyer was pretty upset, seller was honest but was with a reseller at enom.

Anyway the seller did all he could to help me as he was mad as well, as he told me the reseller was stealing it from him as well. I called enom and they was not very helpful, I then walk them through what was going on.

Not once did they try to help me get my domain back, well I then told them the info was still in my name with my email. And demanded they frezze the domain, then send what ever needed to to the info it has.

Well a few hours later they put the domain back into my account, the seller was happy to hear I got it back, enom will not do anymore then they have to that is for sure. In my case the reseller didn't change the info, as I informed the seller that it was put into my account.

And then taking back out by whoever had control of it, seller told me right away, that was a reseller and he had Hosting with them as well. He then tried calling the reseller and got no answer, and I left enom knew all this as well.

I boxed enom in pretty much, and if you ask me other saying enom accounts have lots of stealing going on. It seemed to me at the time the worker at enom, knew what was going on and was a bit shocked I did as well. And that is why with out a word a few hours after my call, my domain was returned to me.

I would guess there is one bad egg working at enom's, a reseller can't get away with such stuff any other way, they knew most people will give up and let it go after a while. So that what you don't want to do, let them know your not letting it go and looking into it.

If you research it and get the info and inform them of the facts, and demand the follow icanns rules it boxes them in, and they must take some kind of action to try and cover them self's. The phone is your friend us it, get the info by asking for help on these forms, but get the facts together ASAP.

Well i'm blaming my self for putting my trust in Escrow.com because their system is not smart but crap.

Don't blame yourself. But thanks for sharing. I have used escrow.com for years and never thought this could happen. Now I'm using sedo escrow on a transaction. No doubt you saved a lot of us from future headaches.

Quite possible it didnt, I have sold several names over the years, especially in boom years when it was a 24 hr flip, no cache of my ownership is present if you are that fast.

Verisign.com/whois shows it during the time of course but DT didnt capture it.
