Hockey Crowd Sings National Anthem

Elizabeth Hughes (8) was singing the national anthem when the mic got cut off in the middle. The fans started singing from the next cue.

Great voice on her, she just needs to learn how to control it a little better. She could sing professionally.

Ha! What timing (on this post). I had an HVAC technician just here to check out one of my systems. He said he recognized my name but had never been here (to this house) before. Turns out he is from Canada. He played on the local team (Winston Salem Thunderbirds of the ECHL) that I was going to try out for. Instead, I broke my back in a car accident. Wanting to stay close to the Ice, I became the official team photographer for about 3 years. And we remembered each other from that episode! I never charged the guys for pics. I would shoot the rolls, the organization would get them developed. Any special requests the guys would give me the film to shoot and I would hand them back the roll to get developed.

He just left, I logged onto the forum, and saw this post (we used to play against the admirals).

A little while ago, I was listening to the "All Things Considered" program on National Public Radio and they talked to Elizabeth Hughes, the hockey-game singer. She was disappointed that she hadn't finished her song (because the mike stopped working), so the NPR host asked her if she'd like to finish it on the air ... and she did. Lovely voice, especially for an 8-year-old!
