just killed a ton of spyware, my machine is now really fast, but it messed up one of my DLL files. It doesn't seem to do anything to my computer, but the error message is really annoying. I dont know much about DLL files, but I think with this one, it can be transfered from one PC to another....
the file is named: msiefr40.dll (Looks like an Internet Explorer in French File)
it is under: C:\Windows\System32\
Can someone email a copy of this file to: daniel.sitar@shaw.ca
If this wont work for some reason, can someone who knows lots about this stuff tell me? thanks!
much appreciated![]()

argh!
whats the easiest way to fix this?
can I make like a blank .dll notepad file to stop the message, obviously, it isnt very important
Could it be part of the msblast virus??
nope, my PC has been acting fine, actually better than ever before....and I do have Norton running constantly....
Try re-applying the appropriate service pack for your computer.
In this situation, I would suggest the full network installation, not the Internet installation.
Lol, I just created a blank notebook file called: msiefr40.dll and stuck it in.... the errors messages stopped and everything works ok....I guess that DLL file wasnt important for me, thanks for the help guys....

I dont know exactly what it is....but they are important, they basically run the machine... they one I am missing doesnt seem important though...
.dll == dynamic link library... basically a file that is part of the files that go to make up a computer program...
Try running the Windows File Checker, it should fix the problem if you come across it again in the future.
To run the program:
Click Start
Run
Type: sfc /scannow
Hope this helps.
