i think it is my business why another member gets banned, especially if...

if another member gets banned who's been here for a while, writes articles on the forum and has the Owner of this forum listed as one of their "friends" in their profile, then i feel it's perfectly acceptable to ask.

who knows if this member had or has ongoing deals, etc with other members.

imo... if a member has been banned before, then it should be in their profile and the reason why they were banned...so members who are considering doing business with them can take those issues into consideration.

closing the previous thread i started seems to be bit "short-sighted" imo, a decision made by people who really don't have a clue...

    imo...

I couldn't agree more on this one. In fact i dont think its just something for the admins to reconsider but i feel its a basic thing to setup in order to keep this forum and its member in high transparency rates.

I have to chime in and agree. It wasn't a problem when threads were started after Patty and NameAdvertising got banned.

Also just to chime in, I hope it's a temporary ban and not a permanent ban as he's been a a member since 05 as I recall and does contribute to the site. Though not my call, I think infraction points or a warning would have been sufficient.

Yeah - I agree. It's a poor show. There seems to be a lot of arbitrary policing and ill-thought-out nitpicking going on here of late. I don't know all the internal politics, but I do remember how it used to be about two years ago and we had none of this.

I wish Adam was more 'hands on' and with his ear closer to the ground. I don't mean this disrespectfully, but so much change doesn't seem to have augured well.

I know this won't endear me to the management, but I know Adam likes it to be told the way it is on the basis of an individual's opinion which is only worth a nominal $.02.

Most of the time, looking back at the latest posts by the person provides the answer. Probably it is the result of an accumulation of infractions... unless the member does something very serious like scamming etc I don't feel I absolutely need to know the reasons.
Still I would be more careful dealing with them. Actually there are quite a few members that have been banned at the other forum and the other way round.

He is not gone for good, just given a week off to cool down.

The comments he made were uncalled for and actually edited by the user himself, prior to getting sent a way, therefore the thread referenced regarding this does not show the original comments. (edit....it does now)

Other than that, we have never openly talked about issues with members in the open forum. As a former Mod yourself Don, you are fully aware of that and not sure why it's an issue now.

    imo......
