If you submitted your site to ODP and haven't been listed, I wanted to let you know what was up.

I am the new editor, and there hasn't been an editor for this category or sub-categories for 4 or 5 months at least.

I have just finished cleaning up the current listings and am now going through the massive backlog of submissions.

If you have submitted a site and it fits the criteria, there is a good chance that you will be added soon as I am dedicating a lot of time now to getting the unreviewed sites cleared out.

If your site isn't added after two weeks or so from the time I post this, you will probably have two resubmit your site.

I become more and more disgusted with dmoz everyday. If the majority doesn't already think so, it won't be long before they become the Netsol of search engines. And it wouldn't surprise me one bit that another one of my active sites is deleted from their directory after making this post.

Seriously though, I know exactly what you mean. But for the sake of accuracy, they aren't a search engine...But being listed there does seem to help you when it comes to other search engines.

I "was" an editor there myself a little over a year ago. After my site being deleted several times even after a meta re-added it and put a note not to delete, it was again so I decided it wasn't for me. The editor of this categtory has been squatting on sites in his category for years.

Yeah that's a big part of what sucks about it. The people who are just there for themselves and to screw the competition. I don't have a domain site, so that will definitely not be a problem in this category. Another big problem is when categories go for a long time without an editor and sites never get added.
