Something is terribly wrong. Just read an article about 2 million dead fish off the Chesapeake. 2 FREAKING MILLION. Scientific investigators claim the fish may have perished as a result of cold water stress. I hope mankind didn't contribute in anyway. But then again I wouldn't be surprised.

Funny how no matter what the climate, some people try and blame it on global warming. Hotter than last year? 'that'll be global warming' - colder than last year 'yep, global warming again'. .

Wow, can't believe the word 'stupid' got censored out of my post...especially when it was directed at a common train of thought, not a person. What is this place coming to?

I know many people are not too keen on bats, but their value as a bug eating machine can not be understated.

But, literally hundreds of thousands have died in the past couple of years to something called white nose fungus.

Here is an article on this syndrome:

Biologists fear bat deaths' broader effect

and an earlier Nat Geo piece

If we made a Human Mass Death Map there would be a lot more blue pointers on it. We accept this as part of our reality because we sort of know how people die. I don't see why we should be suprised by mass animal deaths. There's probably a reasonable explanation for it, even if we may not find it.

I for one believe that a world war broke out between fish and birds. The fish used gas (fishy smell) to kill the birds and they retaliated with their own bio weapon, guano. We should be afraid, very afraid. As soon as our pets get involved, we're screwed. Think about it, millions of cats and dogs running rampant, killing, maiming.

But seriously, I think it's hyped. Just like there's no war in Iraq anymore because there's no news about it, mass animal deaths occur because the news reports about it.
