Country: | Moniker Going Down The Tubes? Am I the only person having severe problems with Moniker at this point? After years of horrible customer service, I'm at my rope's end with this company. My account is in complete and total disarray, whois data is not matching my account data, renewal dates keep getting mysteriously shortened. Yesterday I awoke to find a domain that I paid 12.5K for set to "expired mid 2007", despite renewing it for 5 years mid last year. I called their support, they said they would fix the problem within hours, and low and behold I awoke this morning to find the domain still showing up as expired. Obviously I had to renew it again this morning to be sure it didn't drop.
How they keep screwing me, is I buy a domain from someone, and transfer it into my Moniker account. Before I get control of the domain, it's set to expire mid 2010 for example. So it hits my Moniker account on a 5 year renewal, I check the expiration date in the control panel, and like clock work it's set to expire 2013. So I call their support line, and they tell me the domain transferred in set to expire in 2008, not 2010, I tell them that is incorrect, they then get rude and tell me to prove the domain was paid up through 2010, despite not owning it previously. I'm now running about 20 - 30 domains through this gauntlet at the moment.
So what's the deal here, this problem has been ongoing for over a year, and won't go away. It's pretty convenient that they aren't willing to take the time to fix this "glitch" that always seems to work in their favor. Do they have people in the forum anymore? Since I've been complaining about these problems in the Moniker section of DNF, I'm getting swamped with PM's from forum members saying they are dealing with a whole host of problems over at Moniker.
Is this the beginning of the end? I can't sleep at night right now not knowing what I'll find in the morning in my account. Anyone know of a safer registrar, I got to start moving domains somewhere else?

Country: | sorry to hear of your probs dude
something like this can be very stressful at end of day we are prob talking about xxx,xxx worth of domains, prob more
my advoice is go straight to top and keep on at him (Monte)
He is a nice helpful Guy
or try Glenda, mark for her attention, she keeps that place going
i have to say the 'reps' have basically vanished, good luck even hearing back from Chris or Don. it takes 2 or 3 emails or other support messages to hear back from them. i have frankly given up on that channel.
there does seem to be a bit of a merry go round there at minute, getting pushed from pillar to post
i'm afraid the great 'family' service we got used to will get worse now oversee have took over. i think we all feel a bit aggrieved they sold out |

Country: | May I add to that the continual nightmare of transferring domains FROM Moniker?
I sold two domains and I get the Authorization letter, asking me to verify the transfer and click the link. Which I do and immediately get a page saying I have NO DOMAINS to authorize.
Consequently, I have an angry buyer that claims I won't authorize the transfer. GoDaddy has NO idea what I'm talking about because "it doesn't work that way".
Yet it does.
I'm down to maybe 5 domains at Moniker now... everything is moved away. I just don't like working with that kind of uncertainty.
Any else?

DNF$: 100 | There was a really disgusting story posted on NP about how Moniker wouldn't let a guy who was ill to the point of practically dying get out of one of their auction contracts, despite their final auction list not even being out yet.
No clue where the hell they started going wrong... I used to remember them being talked about with such praise and how "Godaddy was evil". I'll take Godaddy anyday over Moniker

Country: | Year in and year out, it's just the same old tune. If I have a problem, I have to come here to DNF, gripe and moan about it for 2 days, then finally someone crawls out of the woodworks to help me out.

Country: | Till now Moniker domain services are running smoothly, on the other side the auction department of Moniker is giving me headaches.
My rep most of the times dont get back to me when i really need him.
One of my premium tv domains didnt get sold because "they" didnt see the renewal price i ve stated so when a potential buyer appeared and asked about it they sent me an email, that happened on the last hours of the auction while i was sleeping since the time difference is huge. My reply was kinda late and i assume buyer wasnt interested anymore or never found out the renewal price. I asked them to update me about this case and i only got one email from my rep saying i ll get updated by another dep of Moniker auction team, that never happened.
I remember sending them an .xls file with the details of the submitted domains, i ve put under details column the renewal fee for my premium .tv domains but still they didnt look at it.
I really wander; is it so difficult for Moniker to control their customer service and educate their reps so that they can hold their position with respect?

Country: | I have to say on the "other side of the coin" moniker has really been great to me and several others I know, and their legal dept is TOP NOTCH (if you know what I mean) as far as any complaints or notices about domain names, and their process surrounding that whole side of domains etc...they are surely not lacking in this area and definitely protect your interests at all costs. In fact, I really have had no major issues with Moniker, but surely can appreciate your frustration with what seems like it was a transfer in renewal date glitch..I'm glad you got is resolved my brother! Good luck to all...and your names are very SAFE at Moniker, trust me on that one. |

Country: | I cannot disclose the domains (because I sold them) but anyone knows how on earth this is possible: freshly transferred from eNom to Moniker in order to use their escrow, then 2 weeks later out the door to GoDaddy (transferred by the buyer). Doesn't the 60 day registrar to registrar lockdown rule apply?

Country: | Correct. In this extraordinary case, it didn't. I will ask the buyer how he did it; it might involve having some superior "connections".

i have said for ages they should employ/headhunt a couple of domainers and pay them a good wage, guys who know the business and can teach them a thing or two and want domainers really want

Country: | Wow, started using Moniker in the last year. My only real beef at this point is that their website isn't up all the time, due to uploading lists.
Not having problems getting in touch with reps. Maybe a day or 2 lag, but I think that's within the acceptable range.
Still moving my domains there; like the SnapNames auction option. Quote: |

Hope your problems are all sorted soon. |
