Please take a second out of your busy day and email ICANN and sign the anti-WLS Petition to ask them to reverse their decision that approved SnapNames (A Verisign Partner) Domain Name Wait Listing Service (WLS), due out sometime next year.
Do you realize what it will mean to us Domain prospectors if Icann's decision to approve this company's proposed Domain Name Wait Listing Service (WLS) is not overturned?
It means no more NameWinner, DomainKing, DomainGrabber, and every other similar company.
You will simply have to pay your $69 if someone else hasn't already registered it. If they have, your out of luck because there will be no competition. SnapName will be allowed to secure registrations for a domain............BEFORE THEY DROP!!! Thats right, you pay the $69 or you don't have a chance unless ONE person in the whole world got there first.

Keep in Mind, Icann has already approved this WLS to be adminstered by SnapNames.com. Our only hope is a reversal or next year were all screwed.

Honestly, I don't see how WLS can withstand a court challenge. It is the most blatantly monopolistic business proposition I have ever seen anyone try to implement. I can't believe the courts will allow this to go forward and wipe out dozens of businesses because Verisign doesn't want to have to compete like everyone else.

Speaking in a personal capacity as always (and to be very clear, I don't know what Dotster is planning as a next step on WLS):
If ICANN continues to ignore the request to their reconsideration committee there will probably be a court challenge.
What could be the time frame for something like this to happen MArk?
