    The rise of CCtlds

    Interesting..

    On alltheweb.com

.com Displaying results 1-10 of 970,779,182 web pages found

.DE Displaying results 1-10 of 130,664,341 web pages found

.net Displaying results 1-10 of 117,443,142 web pages found
.org Displaying results 1-10 of 143,884,706 web pages found
.co.uk Displaying results 1-10 of 49,283,847 web pages found
.IT Displaying results 1-10 of 34,060,414 web pages found
.BR Displaying results 1-10 of 30,531,724 web pages found
.NL Displaying results 1-10 of 28,520,562 web pages found
.CA Displaying results 1-10 of 21,722,597 web pages found
.US Displaying results 1-10 of 12,389,466 web pages found

.info Displaying results 1-10 of 3,604,203 web pages found
.biz Displaying results 1-10 of 1,423,992 web pages found

Keep in mind >US pages are mostly those from the "regulated" period when only states, government sites were allowed to use them..
but the trend is that country specific extensions are booming..look at germany or little ol netherlands, many more of these..

all the extensions now have more pages up than .com ...in just a matter of a few years..

    diversity is King !

I'll try and update these numbers one a month.. so we can track the actually percentage's ..which are rising the fastest and which are declineing the fastest..seems much more logical approach than simple sitting on one extension ...

roughly 160 countrys in the world divided by .coms 970 million pages means .com on average only represents roughly 6 million pages per country..

With the the trend of more and more countries going to their own cctld ....com will be like .net is in only a few short more years..

but this isnt about the "death" (.com will never die..simply just not be as important)or displacement of .com as it is the OPPORTUNITY to recognize this trend and act on it before it peaks..once it peaks all the good names are gone..

the frenzy isnt there yet..but as more and more people recognize this trend you will see the grab hustle..

To be on equal standing with the other ccTLDs, you should give the total for all of .uk, not just co.uk (after all, the .us total includes the subdomains for state and local sites). .uk is the country code domain for the U.K. (encompassing subdivisions like ac.uk and org.uk), not just co.uk, which is the commercial subdivision.
