you need to go to a good DR Asap.. I had ulnar nerve entrapment 1 year ago (my last two fingers on left hand were numb).. it's caused by pressure on the ulnar nerve at the elbow area...
it's all about ergonomics and posture whilst working...
good luck
I had similar probs because of my swivel chair (Office Chair). Other than medication another solution is to get a chair (eg stool) without a back and train to sit with your back straight. I hope his helps. Get well soon!

Try to sleep with your arms pointing down towards your feet. Crushed 2 vertibrae years ago and if I sleep with my hands up towards my head, the pain comes back. Doing this relieves the pain really quickly for me

About two years ago I thought I had back pain but it was a stomach ulcer. Make sure that's not it....I felt the pain all the way in my back.
Do not Rough It. Make sure you get it taken care of. Sometimes it can be heartburn as well....even though it feels like it's in your back.
How long is the symptoms? My boss have arm/back pain and he had to do a cat scan to find out something wrong with the bone in the back. Doctors recommeded surgery. You probably should go get the scans done make sure there is nothing wrong.
First advice, see a doctor.
Second advice, try rowing.
I've had back pain for a long time but when I consistantly spend time on the rowing machine at the gym the back pain goes away.
Sometimes a good chiropractor can relieve a lot of pain and stress due to spine not being aligned correctly.
All my offers are good for 12 hours unless otherwise stated.
Check alternative medicine (Chinese, Indian etc.), western medicine will NOT help you - they will just give you pills and again more pills until they screw your liver...

If your back hurts all the time that's a very bad sign. If your back just hurts sometimes that's better. Most back pain is Mechanical in nature...it's caused by an action. That's good because understanding the actions and changing them can really make a difference. If you have activity-related back pain, take a look at your lifestyle, figure out how you spend your time and when your back hurts. Then start making changes accordingly.
Thank you all for your advice. Yes Denny they are giving me pain killers, no actual cure, except my Orthopedic doctor recommended physical therapy. I have done chiropractics before, which gets me a little nervous when he cracks my head. I've never tried acupunture or anything like that though. I have had problems sleeping before, but my neck got stiff at the same time, which isn't the case now. I will try sleeping with my hands down. I also like the stool suggestion, my posture is very poor.
MY GP suggested blood tests and an x-ray, which I'm doing today, he thinks it might be due to pnemonia or some broken bubble next to my lung due to caughing. He calls it "pleuritic pain" and suggests "fracture of radius and ulna" In the mean time, I can't sleap at night, just started pain killers, maybe they will help.

I'm taking etoricoxib. First time I've ever heard of it. What sort of alternative medicine do you recommend?

ayurvedic medicines are very popular in India and the sub continent. they are mostly made from herbs and do not have so much side effect as the modern medicines, the effect might be bit slower with ayurvedic medicines but it will be a long lasting ones unlike that of painkillers

I would advice to visit to medical doctor as soon as possible
cheers
yup.. they are very effective.
how much sleep you have ?
your chair?
try sleep on harder surface as it gives good support to the back bone. For western country it may sound odd but try sleeping on the floor. It really gives you that strong backbone.
Do some back related excersize.
Visit a specialist.. not just general purpose doctor..
..:: peace ::..

Different between western and alternative medicine - western is fixing consequences, alternative is fixing a cause.
Examples:
--one my friend had knee pain for a very long time. Western doctors was sending him to a lot of exams of knee. Nothing helped. Finally they noted something about "incurable chronic knee pain". Later he visited Chinese medicine doctor. She examined him and noted the CAUSE is gallbladder (!). After 1 month of taking accupuncture and herbs - no more knee pain.
--Another friend had a thyroid gland desease, w. doctors told him they need to amputate the thyroid gland or he will get blind. Instead of listen to those losers he found a Chinese doctor specialzing in that desease. He got herbs via mail and some consulting via email. His "incurable desease" has been cured After 2 month..
