    What are you sitting on?

When my elbows and lower back started to hurt, l realized I was sitting in the wrong chair, it's one of those $150-$200 office chairs you pickup at Staples or Office depot

After doing a lot of research on ergonomic chairs, sitting in the chair and speaking with a rep, I decided on the SteelCase Amia Chair, Which runs about $600

This might seem like a lot for a chair, but it sure is comfortable. I figure if you spend $1000 or more on your mattress for 8 hours of sleep, you shouldn't have a problem spending half that amount for a chair you spend 4 hours or more on.

So what kind of chair are you computer addicts sitting on?

    Makes sense to me.

Too damn cheap myself. Parking my butt on a chair I found at a yard sale for $25. (very nice though).

However.... where I spend most of my day is in my car. Most comfortable seats I've ever found in cars are Volvo S60/70/80s & Lincoln Town Cars / Marks (the big old ones, pre '88). Currently spend about 8-10 hours a day in the S60 variety. In traffic. Now over 220,000 miles on it, and my back is still intact.
All offers good for 72 hours except running auctions

    Aeron chairs are the best.

I'm using in an expensive leather chair but it gives me back pains if I sit in it for long periods. Now I use a pillow to give support to my lower back and don't get pain anymore. Wish I had an Aeron though :(

I'm using a model that's almost 25 years old, but it's perfect. I didn't wanted to change it for anything else, and I have two "copies" just in case.

Totally relaxed while working, typing, reading and all that... Not a chair exactly, some kind of a hybrid between a chair and an armchair I think, or whatever you call it... It's leather too, so I don't like to lean on it if I don't have anything on me, you get sweaty in a minute...

I had a back injury few months ago and I was in pain for more than 2 months. Unbearable lower back pain when you move even slightly. And for a moment, I thought that the chair isn't doing me any good, in fact it's been promoting the injury. But I was so wrong, it actually made me feel just like before.

So, I'm not familiar with those ergonomic pieces of furniture, or whatever is recommended by specialists, but like south said, those pre 88' stuff works just fine... And they don't have to "seem ugly", this one is pretty nice.

I don't have any pains now, I'm walking straight, long live the old hybrid!

Honestly, since I was released from the hospital with pneumonia and due to knee issues I been sitting in my recliner using a table tray. I love my recliner. Normally though I sit in a wicker rocker that my dad made about 12 years ago.

LOL...That's where domaining comes in silly, you sell maybe 1, 2 or 3 domains and you treat yourself to something nice, You don't want to suffer from Carpal Tunnel do you? you may not be feeling anything now but the symptoms can hit you at anytime. I'm not sure how many hours you spend on the PC, but if it's over 3, you might want to consider something a bit more ergonomic.

I'm glad to hear your back is feeling better, are you using one of those memory foam pillows? Their great for that, the only thing I don't like about them though is they generate heat.... And I looked at the Herman Miller, I didn't really care for them, both aesthetically and physically, the comfort level just wasn't there... And the reviews on the internet tend to favor the Steelcase and other chairs, like the "Leap" and "Think" chairs, both of which also use a mesh backing.

And we had a choice of over 400 fabrics, we were thinking of choosing leather because I LOVE the look of leather, it looks great when it's new but usually looks crappy as it ages... So we went with a thick wool fabric instead, something that will last and look good for a long time.

Many chiropractors will recommend using a recliner when recovering from a injury, your physical therapist most likely told you the same thing... Good luck with your recovery, I wish you well.

We used to have a dinner / movie theatre near where I lived and all the seats were those kinds of seats (it was owned by the same person who owned a chain of car dealerships). It was a great place to watch new release films.
