Most major networks here in the US will stream their shows the day after they air.

As for downloading movies - I only do that with movies that are not available (or banned) in the US.

Disney's "Songs of the South" - banned in the US
BBC's "Threads" - not available in the US

Those ads are just dumb. Are they seriously going to shame anyone into no longer downloading things?
They're almost as bad as the "karma campaign" that Connex ran for Victoria's public transport.

Disney anything got banned in the States?!? WTF???

Seeing as I'm in Australia, and we get screwed for quality content, I'm all for downloads. I think streaming is a waste of time and money though.
The way I see it, if it's on commercial TV and free to air, what's the difference between recording it on Tivo and downloading it? (other than getting it before it airs or gets a channel watermark)
As for movies, the ones I download either don't come out here at the cinemas, or are the ones that I wouldn't have paid to see at the cinema anyway, but my video store still hasn't gotten in 3-4 months down the track.

Seriously, movie and TV producers have no one to blame but themselves for piracy outside of the US and UK markets.
