    Lightbulb Year of the NFC???

I remember watching a game earlier in the season between the Chicago Bears and NY Giants. Jay Cutler was sacked like 10 times in the first half and left the game with a concussion. The Bears defense has always been formidable with the like of Urlacher and now (former Panther) Julius Peppers. In keeping with tradition, it was that fierce Bears defense that beat the opponent.

Green Bay has typically been good on offense for many years. Usually it is the offense that carried the team and games were basically a shoot out - he who scores the most points wins. For years it seemed like the whole team focused on having a stellar offense that overshadowed a so-so defense.

Now Chicago has a superb offense and Green Bay has an outstanding defense.

Both teams seem to have finally come together as a unified team and not necessarily talked about in terms of their own offense's vs defense's. This season's NFL has been spectacular to watch (and play in the DNF pool) and enjoy.

I can not help but believe that this year's superbowl will be dominated by the NFC. Oh, yes...I may be wrong. But who ever wins tomorrow's NFC championship will go on to win the Superbowl, providing key players avoid injuries.

Sure, hats off to the Jet's and their seemingly impossible ride and win over New England. And Pittsburg; well everyone just thinks they should be there year after year (along with the Pats).

But after watching or following just about every game this year (isn't Justin.tv swell) it is impossible for me not to feel the NFC Championship matchup teams is a matter of total domination on both sides of the ball.

Still have a few weeks to go until the superbowl.

But I am making my call early - NFC wins this one.

Sorry Doc but I abhor NFC style of football. AFC wins.

Disclaimer: I am from Boston and a sore loser. Patriots!

Well, I'm a Tom Brady fan (my nephew has played golf with him a few times...at Hilton Head Island I think).

My Panthers absolutely sucked this year. So I had to pull for someone else. The Bears got Julius Peppers.

I just enjoyed playing the DNF pool (1st time) and watching the games.

But, the Patriots getting handled like they did by the Jets??? at Foxboro??? sounds to me like you need to be pulling for the NFC.

I am not a Bears believer, somehow the Bears always find a way to blow it.

I like the Packers over the Bears and the Steelers against the Jets.

I do however agree that if the Packers beat the Bears, the Packers win the Super Bowl.

Aaron Rodgers is just too good and he proved it against the Falcons and the Eagles. The Bears beat a lucky Seattle team.

Aaron Rodgers is good. And the Atlanta game (lopsided score) was shocking.

If the Bears defense can not get to Rodgers, then I give the edge to the Pack. Player-to-player, the quarterback edge goes to the Packers. But on defense and special teams, have to hand that to the Bears and Hester running back kickoffs and punts. That could crush the Packers.

Anyways, I think tomorrows NFC game will be Superbowl worthy within itself.
