A normal person watches a satirical video, in which part of the joke involves a domain name of some sort to align with the joke, and that person thinks to themselves, "haha, I wonder if that's an actual site?"

A domainer goes onto GoDaddy, checks to see if it's available, and if it is, registers it and parks it at sedo.

Unfortunately, the last name which I applied the latter scenario to wasn't available. But just made me confirm that I'm that hardcore of a domainer

Oh, and another "You know you're a domainer when..." - you wonder why the hell formspring chose "formspring.me". Because of this curiosity, you went to formspring.com, only to find out it redirects to formspring.me. And then you checked the .net, .org, .biz and .info in hopes they were unregistered only to find they also all redirect there. And you didn't take my word for it, so you tried it out (at least formspring.com) yourself.
