    Urban legend that Golf came from "Gentlemen Only...Ladies Forbidden"... so very likely the other ones could be incorrect as well IMO. I did try to lick my elbow though as well.

    The Dutch term "kolf" (meaning "stick, "club" and "bat") is likely the source of the word "golf".
