Bidding increments

Will these go back to what they were originally, or be $1? (the online rules should maybe be adjusted, if it's the latter)

Send a message via AIM to Ciqala

I think greg mentioned bid increments being included in the auction tracker automatically

I think bid increments should be:

$1 up to $100
$5 up to $500
$10 up to $1,000
$100 up to $10,000
$1,000 up to $100,000
$10,000 up to $1,000,000

I think the seller should state bid increments. its up to the seller to decide if he wants to risk with high increments and possibly cut of a bidder or two. High increments may also net you a higher sale price.

Thanks Ed30

Current Price Bid Increment
$ 0.01 - $ 0.99 $ 0.05
$ 1.00 - $ 4.99 $ 0.25
$ 5.00 - $ 24.99 $ 0.50
$ 25.00 - $ 99.99 $ 1.00
$ 100.00 - $ 249.99 $ 2.50
$ 250.00 - $ 499.99 $ 5.00
$ 500.00 - $ 999.99 $ 10.00
$1000.00 - $2499.99 $ 25.00
$2500.00 - $4999.99 $ 50.00
$5000.00 and up $100.00

Seems to me that these might need to be increased some for a live auction with time limits between bids.

I honestly think this will cause massive confusion...

I think it should be "Bump a buck minimum" it worked well last week didn't it? The easier, the better.

If it ain't broke...don't fix it

The increments will be automated, top. Gregr is developing a bidding script.

You mean MINIMUM bid increments! Otherwise, as you stated you need 75 bids to reach from 25 to 100.

Seems not reasonable to me.

Well, I dunno ... you've got to allow enough time for people to make a decision AND to respond. I'm sure I'll learn more once I witness the "process" (I wasn't able to be there this past Sunday) firsthand. Generally, though ... I'd suggest allowing for more time between bids and LIMITING the amount of names to be auctioned on any one given night.
If this has all been discussed ad infinitum already somewhere else, I apologize. There's lots of threads on this new auction subject. Any comments on my suggestion(s) would be greatly appreciated, as well.
Thanks and Good Luck.
PS. See you Sunday!
