Re: Bloody eye banner ad -- offensive?

anybody actually registered/used them?
I see a lot of comments about the campaing, most of them angry, negative.
what's the point?
I know "all publicity is good", but making your potential customers angry AND paying a bunch of cash to do so?
that just doesn't sound like good marketing to me.

Re: Bloody eye banner ad -- offensive?

Hello,

I just come back from few days of vacations and discovered this thread where some members are again complaining about some of our ads.

Not sure to understand the buzz about this ad, where a buyer simply discover too late that the domain she purchased has a poor value.

But for your convenience it has just been removed from the ad rotation.

The idea was not to hurt forum's members but simply educate potential domain buyers (mainly newbies) that is important to not base their buying decision only on the "vertues" argued by the domain seller.

I take this opportunity to remember to anyone:
You are more than welcome to advertise in DNForum if you have a service of interest to promote to this community. Simply PM me.

And for those who complaint about our "poor" ads:
Send us your "great" ad creatives for PremiumDomain(s).
We pay $100 fo each banner ad we will accept to rotate.

Now please do not do a melting pot between the ads that just need to have a high CTR (and it's the case) with our service.

Thanks again for your comments.

Re: Bloody eye banner ad -- offensive?

It's very simple: a woman appears to be abused and that phrase and image is used as a metaphor for domains. You might as well say "got raped at the domain aftermarket?"

I call this not only a display of lack of creativity by the designer, but also a lack of judgement on your part for accepting it.

Thanks for the reply cybertonic and the removal.
I did not post here to good or bad you or your company.
It was because that particular ad when taken in context with the verbage and the image were just not right.

...and I did provide you with an alternative...(see quote)

Thanks for listening.

Jim

Re: Bloody eye banner ad -- offensive?

Bad taste and a bad explanation. Be thankful you're saved by English being your second language.

I thought it was Britney Spears. I think it was bad taste too.

Re: Bloody eye banner ad -- offensive?

The content of the ad was created to get your attention, with the intent to draw customers, kind of like what sex ads do, we like looking at those but not these......It turned me off too!
