I had the same problem with falling asleep during the auction as some of the other members.
It may make sense to cut the initial bid time down to 5 seconds and following bids to 10 seconds. Quickening the pace would be a benefit.
Remove proxy bidding to force real live attendance or remove the word Live from the title.

If I don't want it, it's over-priced or it's rubbish I'm not going to buy it - either by proxy or when present.
At any auction you start from nothing and the "item" finds its market value - if the seller wants he places a reserve that he won't sell under - it's the same here!
Maybe more would attend at a different day/time but that's another issue - maybe it's just that we attend/proxy when we see something we want.
