Member Syd

Hi Everyone,

I bought some names on the auction last saturday afternoon and everything went very smoothly except for my dealings with Syd (Simon McCarron) who didn't transfer the domain after I sent money. He doesn't want to honour the deal now as I was a little upset with his performance.

Judge for yourself, if you want to do business with him in the future. My guess is that he doesn't want to sell his domain for one dollar only...

Pse note that I got in contact with him first and it took him almost 48 hrs to give me his PayPal address. The time is my local time (GMT +1)

/jr

My PM today:

Simon,

Civility for me means that I follow the auction rules.
"Once a domain name has been sold the transaction should be completed within 72 hours."

Civility means also that if I say very soon then I deliver very soon not in a day later.

Civility for me means also that I inform the other part if I can't do what I promised to do.

We have business deal and I think it is very rude if someone tells me that he can't attend to this deal as he is "very very busy". You are actually saying that you have something more important to do.

I think you should just keep your voice down a little bit cause you don't have any reason at all to be upset. You have *not* perfomed in this case. I sent you the money five hours after I received your address. When I didn't hear anything I sent a polite reminder a day later and that was actually more than 72 hours after the auction.

I get upset when people are neglecting a business deal I'm involved in and I get really "pissed" if they later write letters as the one I received from you today.

Do you think you *alone* can decide that you don't want to go ahead with this deal just because you don't like that I got upset with you. Well, just try to perform like the other ten people I bought names from at this auction. You were the *only* one that didn't manage to complete the deal within 72 hours. Most did it within 24 hours.

Don't come and give me any advice on business, especially not if you cant perform yourself.

And Simon, I don't care if you are impressed or not with my letters as I don't care if you are busy or not. We have a deal and even if it is only one single dollar involved I think you should respect your business partner and perform according to the "contract" and your words.

The domain is legally belonging to me as I have paid you full amount and if you don't transfer it to me you will experience what "tough business" is.

I expect to have the domain transfered to me within 24 hours.

Jim Rousk

Hi Jim,

I choose only to do business with people that show at least a little civility; you are possibly the rudest individual I have ever had the misfortune to do business with. With this in mind; I have refunded your Paypal payment.

Next time you are involved in a business deal such as this; my advice is to show a little tact - if you had had the kind of week I have just been through you would realise why I wasn't impressed with your previous message.

Regards,

Syd.

So far not a word from GoDaddy...

I don't really care if you are busy or not. It is a question of priority. To keep a deal and follow the auction rules has very low priority for you, as I can see.

This is the last PM to you, next one will be public.

Jim

Hi again Simon,

I hope you received the money and my details yesterday.

I'm still waiting for the domain, why I hope to hear from you very soon.

I'm a little surprised of the business ethics here. As I understand, an auction is a legal commitment. Good to know...

I can fully understand that people ar busy and I gave him time to complete the deal. My "rude" answer to him was more than twelve hours after I was informed that "The transfer is in progress & you should hear from GoDaddy very soon".

I would have heard from Godday within a couple of minutes if the transfer was in progress as I was informed.

I bought a domain from Syd on saturday, I was beginning to wonder because I did not here from him but once I did, he stated that he was offline for a couple of days and proceeded with the push, I think everything was done and complete yesterday or monday.

Just my two cents

I had a smooth transaction with Syd the week before, so I suspect his delays were valid.

I have conducted business with many members of DN Forum, & up until my unfortunate interaction with Jim, everybody I had conducted business with proved to be more than civil; & it was indeed a great pleasure to do business with all of them.

I don't want to break out the violins here but for personal reasons the past week really has been terrible, & resulted in my inability to find the time to get online & sort out my post-auction responsibilities as quickly as I would have liked. The first opportunity I had to transfer the two names that I sold; I visited my PM box to retrieve Jim's & DoubleDee999's whois info to transfer the names & found Jim's message, the contents really was like rubbing salt in a wound.

My inability to transfer the names within 72hr time-frame was a one-off incident, & I can assure all members it will not happen again (all of my other transactions have taken place within 24hrs). Once again, I apologise to Doubledee999 that the transfer took longer than expected.

With regards to Jim, as I have already said: Your payment was refunded, so do not expect the name to be transferred to you. IMO you posses very little civility & this whole incident has left a very nasty taste in my mouth.

Syd.

i think this was very rude - not as rude as your last post

there has to be a little give or take in these things - regardless of any 48 hour rule - people have lives away from the computer and sometimes a domain transfer will be delayed because of this

maybe syd should have dealt with the transfer sooner - but by the messages you have shown us id say syd looks like a good member to trade with and you dont - the last message was childish at best

i dont agree with publically printing someone elses email either
just my two dnf$

Jimr is obviously a silly little child that has never heard of business ethics.

I have had dealings with Syd in the past, and I thought he was a very genuine person, and I was pleased with his polite manner and good business practices.

To SYD: I wouldnt worry too much about this twat. I'm sure people in this forum know you better than that anyway. It's quite obvious from his unreasonable posts that it is not worth dealing with people like this.

If fact, by trying to "rubbish" you, I think he has sent out a warning to others that were considering doing business with HIM.

Little wordgame.... shot, foot, yourself, have, you, in, twat, you

spin 'em all around and what d'ya get?

I have no problem with Syd's transfer time or anything. If maybe it went a week or more I might start asking questions. But he made the transfer like he said he would and that works for me. I would not hesitate to buy from him again.

This thread should be considered an example of why you should not be so hasty to call someone out.
