Re: Popup Killer And DNF Toolbar Gone Wild?

I'm not sure what or where you visited recently, but I don't think this has has anything to do with the dnf toolbar. Download the free version of ad-aware and hopefully it will kill all any spyware or the like off your PC

Re: Popup Killer And DNF Toolbar Gone Wild?

download ashampoo winoptimizer. it contains many powerful features including a very powerful and effective popup blockers, also includes a trial program..

the popup blocker is only new in the new version the rest of the progrm features are great too.

i prefer to use Opera though... i get absolutely no popups using it because it has a built in popup blocker

Re: Popup Killer And DNF Toolbar Gone Wild?

I once went to a site linked off DS

It literally installed all these popups, (i never had any)

when i left my computer on for a few hours, id have 20 popups sitting on my taskbar

it was ridiculous.

adaware did nothing

i wish i remember the link.

Re: Popup Killer And DNF Toolbar Gone Wild?

there are hundreds of these programs.

what you need to do is uninstall the registry entries at startup so they dont start the program that starts the popups. they will be very obvious entries that start programs that have no meaning. i use the program i mentioned before(ashampoo winoptimizer), the trial version does this for you.

the most memorable program that starts itself is purity scan, opened with "pscan.exe", but i have found a lot more.

Re: Popup Killer And DNF Toolbar Gone Wild?

just ran a test

I had downloaded the toolbar on Feb. 25

Installed it a few minutes ago.

it added a total of 10 reconizable 'spyware' files.

of the 10, 3 were 'malware' and 1, istbar.exe was 'dangerous', according to adaware.

something is definately wrong!

I definatly knew that it was the toolbar....And if my conclusion is correct your Windows Explorer Will Run 85% Slower Then Normal...It takes 45 seconds to open up DNForum.com and I have DSL that normally loads in 1-2 seconds
